So, they got engaged at a waterfall…and they have spent lots of time together at Great Falls, so that’s where we decided to have their engagement session!! Alyssa loves vintage (girl after my own heart!) so when finding a ring Marshall knew that the ring had to have “soul” so he found an exquisite ring from the 1930s … now you would have thought he would have stopped there, BUT NO … he MADE the ring box himself out of hickory wood. And for the ring photo I took at their session, HE set the ring in the box exactly how it was presented to Alyssa. Can’t wait for their fall wedding!!!

Sarah and Brian wanted something rustic with a bridge! We ended up having two bridges and lots of fun. It was very windy- but that is March for you!! These two were so much fun and I just love their energy together!! Can’t wait for their fall wedding!!

Jatin and Allison met me at 5:30am at the Tidal Basin! The Jefferson has a special meaning to them- Jatin proposed there on the monument steps!! Sunrise is a beautiful time and we had a blast doing this shoot. The great thing about early morning- there weren’t as many tourists- so at times, we had the whole area to ourselves!! We moved throughout the morning to different locations near and around the Tidal Basin. I really loved richness of the colors they chose for their engagement- so beautiful! Looking forward to their fall wedding!
Oatlands Plantation Engagement | Manassas Photographer
I had a wonderful engagement session with Illiana and Thomas yesterday afternoon! The weather was iffy – but I told my assistant on the way to The Oatlands Plantation– that it was NOT allowed to rain until 4:59- the rain held off until 5:01. I love the grounds of this plantation- really makes for a great backdrop! There is a ginkgo tree that drops all its yellow leaves in the fall within one week! And Iliana and Thomas- what can I say, they were the icing on the cake! Very excited to photograph their late summer wedding!
Gatsby Inspired Engagement Photos
I have always loved playing dress up! And I LOVE vintage!! So when Claudia and Randy told me that they would love to have a 1920s inspired engagement session; I jumped at the chance to make this happen!! So, I called Michelle at Ambiance Special Events to see if she could help us create a “ducky” engagement session with her styling!! And I think it turned out beautifully…I found Libera House in Manassas which lent itself to a beautiful location, allowing us to step back in time.
This couple was so much fun and came dressed very Gatsby!! And their love and passion shows through in every image!
