Portraits to Celebrate Your Birthday Day

http://pulsobeat.com/boa-supporting-spanish-hip-hop-since-1993/ Brandi was turning 35 and wanted to celebrate herself!! Life isn’t always easy and the last couple of years had been rough; she had two very dear losses in her life in those 2 years. She was coming out of the pain and wanted to celebrate her birthday in a fun, unique way! I was SO EXCITED that she booked me!! We talked about her shoot, she wanted a mixture of film noir and a magazine shoot (like a spread you’d see in Vogue or W magazine).  She bought in some amazing clothing choices! Nothing needed from my style closet. The red and gold dress was actually her mom’s from the 1980’s and most of the other items were vintage as well. I just love her style vibe!! She wanted a studio and location shoot. She always wanted some graffiti as a backdrop. I found a remote location and purchased a confetti canon to give the finishing touches and FUN to our portraits there. I just love this shoot!! The peace on her face as the confetti rains down on her– brings me so much joy!! Hey, what are YOU doing for your birthday this year?!

Fall Senior Portraits

Loved capturing this young lady for her senior portraits! What an honor it is to get to create landmark portraits for seniors. AND we have so much fun! Anna was on point for her color choices of her wardrobe — with the location I picked it turned out great!! It was a bit chilly on this November day–but, we created some awesome portraits!!

Desert Shoot in Phoenix | Outdoor Portrait Photographer

While out on my trip to the Portrait Masters, my friend and fellow photographer Emily MacPherson of Moonfly Photography set up a portrait shoot in a park in Phoenix that had beautiful desert landscapes. It was such an amazing time. These two ladies were gracious and modeled for us — it was such a beautiful location.  I loved the colors, textures and foliage. It made for a very dramatic backdrop!! Who wants to take a trip with me and go back to Phoenix??

Children’s Portrait Photography

This little guy turned 2!! It’s so important to capture the personality of this age. We shot of these portraits in 30 minutes, because honestly, that’s all a 2 year old will give you!! I created a beautiful photo keepsake block for the parents. Meet Mr. Personality —

Paris and Normandy | Photographers Vacation

Well, what can I say… I LOVED France!! It was truly an epic trip. Paris has won my heart, the architecture, the textures, the fashion, and the BREAD! (and the wine) I am a big impressionist painters fan -not only for the artwork, but for their rebelliousness against convention. The impressionists really did pave the way for future artists to create their art as THEY experience it. Monet has always has been one of my favorite impressionists. To see his paintings in person, and to see his home and gardens of more than 40 years, was the highlight of my trip. I learned that he was an artist with his gardening as well as his painting; he planned every detail of  the landscaping! Some of the other places we saw, Notre Dame Cathedral (I loved the Gargoyle tour–great leg workout), Eiffel Tower, Mont Saint Michael, Chateau de Pirou, Giverny, Saint Mere Eglise, Honfluer and the beaches of D-Day. Omaha Beach, (which is first sunset photo) you might remember this beach from the movie Saving Private Ryan, was amazing to see in person. As I walked on these beaches, I was overwhelmed with a deep sense of reverence and a realization of the human cost of freedom. I hope you enjoy the photos – I can’t wait to go back!!
