Their ceremony was held at a church in Kilmarnock. It was a wedding done exactly how they wanted and exactly them- the reception was held at Joe’s family home right on the water. The bonfire on the night of the rehearsal was EPIC!! I can definitely say this is the biggest wedding party we have had with so many many cutie pies!!! AND the bowties, just sent the boys on cuteness overload. I love Sarah’s boho dress- and the veil was handmade from lace that had been previously worn from other brides in their family!! A first look with her father- and the lively parent dances!! Right after the ceremony, a massive thunderstorm happened – blowing rain- by the time we got to the reception site the rain had let up a little- and by couple portraits we had a break almost completely in the rain. We were honored to be part of their day!!!

Anniversary LOVE 52 years | Virginia Portrait Photographer
LOVE is never perfect- but I believe it is so beautiful!! I have been wanting to photography my parents for awhile! Today is their 52nd anniversary!!! 52 years!! Their love has ridden the rollercoaster of life: highs, lows and the steadiness. I want to share with you a bit of their story and some of my favorites shots from yesterday.
They went to the same high school. Dad was one year older than Mom. He says it was love at first sight when she got into a car that was taking a group of kids back home after a football game. He was already in the car and according to Dad, she practically sat on his lap. Mom didn’t quite remember the story the same way 🙂 fast forward a year later, and dad drew this note pictured and gave it to my mom in the hallway. And then they went “steady.” I have been in LOVE with this note as a young girl- so, I am really happy to finally have photographed it!! Check out how my dad signed my mom’s yearbook!! And I enjoyed reading my Mom’s entry to my dad- but I promised my mom I wouldn’t share that!!
We decided to shoot their anniversary session at a lake that we went to every summer as a family! There were some crazy fun times there!! And the tree pictured is the tree we always set up our blankets under (we got there early each time to secure the spot!!) I am so happy for the chance to photograph them and so very thankful for them!! Happy Anniversary, you two crazy kids!!

Evergreen Country Club Wedding | Virginia Wedding Photographer
Kimmy and Neal!! They were married at Evergreen Country Club it was a beautiful ceremony and they were surrounded by their family and friends. I loved Kimi’s shoes. They really expressed who she is: sassy, styled and sparkly!!! AND her Stella York looked amazing on her!! Kimmy and Neal are such a sweet couple and we were honored to be part of their day !!!! PS – each bridesmaid had her own pool boy attached to her Mimosa!! (Too funny!!)

Beauty Portraits | Manassas Photographer
I love photographing women. Boudoir, Beauty and Fashion photography! So, I am eating lunch with my daughter at a restaurant and look over see this lovely freckled young woman. I walk over and hand her my card and tell her I would love to photograph her! Luckily for me she called: ) And what I didn’t know she had just recently signed on at a modeling agency- too cool! I had a professional makeup artist come in and I styled her clothing. She loved her images and we had a great time!
The one thing I would like to add to this blog post – I believe EVERY woman should have photographs like these of herself!! I know what some of you women are thinking as you look at these images – you are tearing yourself down. STOP. STOP. STOP. And if you are brave enough or curious enough to let me show you how beautiful you are – reach out, and I will take care of the rest!!
