Great Falls Engagement | Great Falls National Park

Alyssa and Marshall! We had a great engagement session! So, they got engaged at a waterfall…and they have spent lots of time together at Great Falls, so that’s where we decided to have their engagement session!! Alyssa loves vintage (girl after my own heart!) so when finding a ring Marshall knew that the ring had to have “soul” so he found an exquisite ring from the 1930s … now you would have thought he would have stopped there, BUT NO … he MADE the ring box himself out of hickory wood. And for the ring photo I took at their session, HE set the ring in the box exactly how it was presented to Alyssa. Can’t wait for their fall wedding!!!

Charleston Vacation

What an amazing time!! Mike and I were in need of some time off : ) We stayed two days in downtown Charleston and then met some friends for a Jazz festival south of Charleston. We had never been to the city and I was overwhelmed by the beauty, history and textures!! Luckily, my friend had made a request for me to take some photos of the doors of Charleston. Thank goodness- because I wouldn’t have known where to start. Every where I looked, I thought I would want to shoot an engagement session here, here, here… I am not sure how many miles we walked in those two days. We did take a carriage ride and our guide was fantastic- he told us about Philadelphia Alley which was a dueling spot and I believe over 1,000 men lost their lives there (I wanted to find the alley again but didn’t have time). Charleston was the first American city to have a theater – there are photos of that in the gallery, however, this is not the original one, that one burned in a fire. The jazz festival was amazing – we really loved hearing Boney James!! And of course being with friends!! It was a great 4 days- Charleston, I will be BACK!!

Rustic Farm Wedding Haymarket Virginia

Breann and Justin were married on a family farm in October in Haymarket, Virginia. The farm was located back in the woods off the main road and had a beautiful pond. The ceremony was performed right in front of the pond and the guests sat on hay bales to watch the two “get hitched.” There were many touches to their day, chalk boards that were professionally designed, mason jars that had a chic look to them – I loved the old suitcase that had a slit cut into the side for the cards to be dropped in. AND did I mention the bouquet- simply elegant- the willow branches were formed into a heart and inside the middle were cream roses! The girl’s flowers were paper and made out of coffee filters- Breann found the vendor on Etsy. A very rustic, chic wedding! We were honored to be part of their of day!!!
