A few years ago, 2015 to be exact, is when I met Deb Trnka; it was at Prince William Chamber event. The event was my first and Deb could sense that I was feeling lost in a sea of people I didn’t know. She was so friendly and authentic!! We also had a instant connection over shoes, we both love fun shoes!! Not only is she a fellow shoe connoisseur, a wonderful person and a fantastic financial advisor with Edward Jones; she is a connector of people and her heart, well, it is so big, not sure how it even fits inside her body; ) As I continued to grow with the Chamber, I saw Deb more and more. Then as I got to know her story, and I was even more drawn to her and her mission!! Again, I say this, I am so thankful for the amazing WOMEN I have met along my journey of being an entrepreneur — #mytribe
DG-What led you into becoming a Financial Advisor?
DT- I became a Financial Advisor because of my sister. She was hit by a drunk driver and basically never recovered. She lived for 10 years before passing away. I watched my parents dip into their retirement to care for her. I asked myself, “what if this were me or my husband, what would happen to my children?” I knew I didn’t want to see others legacy to be destroyed in the blink of an eye.
DG-Pick three words to describe your work-
DT-It’s my calling! lol (not what you meant, but it is 3 words!)
DG-What kinds of things do you like to do outside of your work?
DT- Spend time with my family. Visiting wineries and taking Disney Cruises!
DG- What is your favorite place that you have been?
DT- Other than Disney!!! We once went to New Zealand for vacation. We toured the South Island and had the best time! There is a reason they call it God’s Country.
DG-What is something that inspires you?
DT- You do! I love to see women become empowered! It is important that we all encourage each other to succeed!
DG-If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self what would it be?
DT- Ugh, Don’t give up and don’t believe those lies in your head! You are worthy and God has such amazing things planned for you! I believe in you!
DG-What is it that you want your work do?
DT- I want to enrich peoples lives by empowering them to take control of their dreams and make them a reality!
